100 West 81st Street, NYC, NY
The partial renovation of this 2000 sf duplex residence included a new kitchen and dining room on the lower level, a new master bedroom suite and office on the upper level and a new steel stair joining the two levels. The existing spiral stair was removed and replaced with a straight stair that allowed a graceful accent with large wood treads and an accommodating rise. Hi-gloss kitchen cabinets are contrasted by the owner's chosen red walls, iron-spot brick and wood furnishings. Surplus floor area, created by relocating the existing master bathroom and new straight stair are used to create a new office and or nursery. Textured glass mosaic tile and a new window complete the master bathroom designed to harmonize with the master bedroom.
