Mary Temple + Stephan Sehler
Concepts for Site Specific Art
37 W 8th Street, NYC, NY
Concept studies for the selection of site-specific artwork to embellish the lobby of a former loft building in Greenwich Village. Collaborating with art consultant Elizabeth Akkerman, illusionistic abstract wall paintings by artist Mary Temple were chosen to facilitate an illusion of daylight in the ground floor lobby. In the elevator cab, reverse glass paintings by German artist Stefan Sehler were chosen to suggest the color and life of nature in an otherwise inert interior space.
