Jill Nathanson "Flux"
Site Specific Mural
132 West 22nd Street, NYC, NY

For a newly converted residential building in Chelsea, a site-specific mural by the abstract artist Jill Nathanson was recommended as a design alternative that would enrich the lobby with original artwork. Supported and commissioned by the developer, the upper wall of this narrow building lobby was embellished with a 50- foot long canvas by the abstract artist Jill Nathanson, who described the piece as “a semi-abstract work in which the processes of creation, flux and active force refer much more literally to buildings. The work is an image of a dream-like city in a process of development and renewal”.
